EDI community microgrants

You must be a formally constituted group or non-profit organisation with:

• a bank account in the name of the group/organisation
• a Management Committee or Governing Board
• appropriate policies and procedures relevant for the group’s activities (e.g. safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessments, EDI policy, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) photo consent form, Public Liability Insurance, to cover all risk associated with the activities of the organisation.
  • Community interest companies (CIC), registered charities and schools are also welcome to apply.
  • To be eligible for a grant, your project must also:
• Have a clear focus on equality, diversity and inclusion and a clear timescale. Priority will be given to applications that have a clear explanation of their EDI objectives, a viable project plan and timetable.
• Aim to engage with, and benefit, SNG Customers and communities within: Oxfordshire, Newbury, Reading, North Hampshire and Surrey, South Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole), Dorset, Devon, Bristol, Gloucester, Wiltshire, Hertfordshire, Somerset and London boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Haringey, Harrow, Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Lambeth, Westminster, Wandsworth, Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond, Hounslow.  

Some examples of projects, events and activities that this fund can cover are:

• Cultural awareness/ history projects and activities that celebrate diversity and/or Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic heritage
• Events that embrace inclusion and belonging
• Projects that address under-representation and promote active participation
• Workshops/networking events that amplify women and girl voices
• Local interventions that support and increase the visibility and acceptance of LGBTQ+ people and communities
• Activities that support people with learning disabilities
• Activities that promote intergenerational connections
• Campaigns and activities that embrace cultural differences, challenge the status quo and create transformational change within our communities
• Activities and support for migrants and refugees to overcome barriers and support their integration and acceptance into the community
• Community research on EDI best practice.

The supporting documents are:

• A business letterhead/email which includes your business logo, name, address and contact information as well as your full bank details (Account name, Name of Bank, Account number, Sort code). * Compulsory
• Copy of governing document *Compulsory
• (Optional) case study, good story or short film about your group or organisation’s work or the activity/ project you are applying for

Once your application is received, our grants panel will assess it and let you know the outcome within 7 to 14 days of the closing date.

If successful, you will be invited to an informal webinar where you will have the opportunity to find out more about SNG, our services and other opportunities within the programme.

All successful grant recipients will need to complete a small grant report. A link to a brief online monitoring and evaluation form will be sent to you once you start the programme and will need to be completed by the end of your project.
