We provide housing options for those over the age of 55. We offer studios, flats and bungalows for those who may want to re-size their living space or just re-organise their housing needs to get the most out of life.
We provide high-quality homes at 100 sites, with a high level of service through our dedicated teams. Our schemes allow you to live independently, comfortably and securely, while knowing that assistance is there if you need it.
Most of our schemes provide the added security of an emergency alarm call system, which is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Learn about our Careline service in the South and West of England.
You’ll live in a property which benefits from a designated team who visit regularly. The service also provides access to other staff to help residents maximise independence in their home, and maintain safe and well-managed buildings that meet our health and safety standards.
Many schemes also benefit from shared communal facilities such as lounge, kitchen, laundry and gardens. Some also have guest room facilities, available to hire at a modest daily cost.
We also provide grounds maintenance and communal cleaning services to help make sure shared areas are maintained to a high standard.
For most sites you need to be over 55 or be disabled with a support need to be eligible. In London you may need to be over 60 - or over 55 with a disability or support need.
Homes are allocated through referrals from your local authority, as well as through the following voluntary agencies for our London properties:
- Age UK/Brent and Harrow
- Brent Crisis
- BIAS
- Shps/Brent
- St Mungos
- Advice for Renters
- Outreach Barnet
- Assisted accommodation - Haringey
Contact your local authority and register using their housing application form. They will assess your needs, looking at things like where you live now, and taking any medical or social requirements you have into account.
(We encourage current General Needs tenants to also apply for sheltered accommodation. The benefits may include a downsizing package/incentive of £1,000 per room, subject to any arrears.)
Most local authorities now use a choice-based lettings scheme, which means that available properties are advertised through their website. You can search for, and bid on, any property you are eligible for, giving you much more choice.
We encourage current General Needs tenant’s to also apply for Sheltered accommodation, and the benefits include a downsizing package/incentive of £1,000 per room subject to any arrears.
