The Move On and Thrive Youth Empowerment Fund 2024 supports young people living on the Isle of Wight, between the ages of 16 and 25 who need a little extra help to "Move On and Thrive."
The fund supports five key support areas:
- Personal development: Funding for training, employment, vocational courses, further education, interview attire, and work equipment.
- Transport costs: Coverage for bus fares, boat fares, taxi fares, bicycles, and driving lessons.
- Health and wellbeing: Assistance for gym memberships, wellness classes, sports equipment, personal care, and therapy (online or in-person).
- Digital inclusion: Provision of SIM cards, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and broadband access.
- Housing support: Aid for rent deposits, moving costs, and essential household items.
Developed by young people who have faced similar challenges, the fund aims to provide the financial support needed to access more opportunities and assistance.
Established by SNG in partnership with the Blagrave Trust, this initiative is part of our Move On and Thrive Programme, helping young people sustain tenancies and reduce homelessness risks.
