SNG exchanges contracts with Hill Group to deliver 52 affordable homes in Stevenage
SNG has exchanged contracts with Hill Group to deliver 52 homes for Affordable Rent at Lytton Way in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The one- and two-bedroom apartments will be available to people on the borough’s housing register.
The homes are designed by architects BPTW and are in line with our groundbreaking Home and Place standard, ensuring they’re of the very highest quality and a great place to live. The Affordable Rent homes will be located in a nine-story building with all new residents having access to either a private balcony or terrace. They will also have access to green spaces and a children’s play area. The scheme is close to Stevenage railway station and town centre with Stevenage Old Town to the north.
The apartments are part of a wider regeneration of a former office site which will provide 576 mixed tenure homes over seven buildings. Planning permission was secured by Hill Group in 2022 with construction work beginning in December 2023. Residents are likely to move into the Affordable Rent properties from August 2026.
Matt Bird, SNG Regional Managing Director (London and East), commented: “We’re delighted to be able to deliver these much-needed affordable homes for people on the Stevenage housing register. They’re located in a fantastic location close to excellent transport links, shops and employment. New residents can certainly look for forward to living in a thriving community, over generations.”
Andy Hill OBE, founder and Group Chief Executive of The Hill Group, said: “Effective collaboration is key to all of our projects and our flourishing partnership with Sovereign Network Group is a prime example of partnership in action. We share a commitment to delivering much-needed new homes across England and, by combining resources and expertise, we can scale up delivery while improving quality. Our partnership with SNG is proving to be a game-changer for effective housing delivery and we are proactively looking for future sites to collaborate on."
