SNG wins WhatHouse? Award for Best Regeneration Scheme at Stockwell Park
SNG’s £250 million regeneration scheme at Stockwell Park in Lambeth has been recognised in this year’s WhatHouse? Awards! The scheme won Silver in this year’s ‘Best Regeneration’ category which is awarded to ‘developers who demonstrate a commitment to the inner city and urban renewal, or rural regeneration, including new build on derelict land, brownfield sites or refurbishment of existing housing stock’.
Stockwell Park has 1,750 homes which are managed by SNG’s subsidiary SW9 Community Housing. Since 2007 SNG and predecessor organisations have invested heavily on the estate by building new homes, refurbishing, and improving existing homes and upgrading community spaces. This has included the £1.8 million refurbishment the local Community Centre, the refurbishment of the world-famous Stockwell Hall of Fame graffiti pen and £100,000 toward the revamp of the local skate park.
There is ongoing work to transform the streets on the estate into tree lined avenues offering more room for pedestrians and cyclists along with refurbished undercroft parking areas. This work is due be finished by Spring 2025.
Once the regeneration is complete, SNG will have delivered a total of 1079 new and refurbished homes at Stockwell Park.
