Proposed redevelopment at Windmill Court, Windmill Road, Mortimer Common
We're working to redevelop land we own at Windmill Court, Windmill Road, Mortimer Common. We submitted a planning application in 2024 and are currently awaiting a decision.
As a result of productive discussions with local stakeholders during the Summer and Autumn of 2022, we have revised our plans for the site, and they now include a greater number of smaller homes to meet a range of local needs.

The new homes have been designed to be in keeping with the local area and the intention is that the development will include an open space that can be used by local people. The access road will be designed to Home Zone standards so that traffic is calmed and a safe environment created for pedestrians and residents. The new homes will be well insulated, and residents will benefit from reduced energy costs as a result of the higher energy performance of the buildings.

There’s a need for new affordable homes in the area and the proposed redevelopment will consist of 24 homes in total:
- 13 Social rent homes
- 9 Shared Ownership homes
- 2 homes available as shared ownership – first homes
We have successfully found new accommodation for the residents who were living within accommodation in the existing building, some of which may choose to return once the development activities are complete.
